Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds.
So we have made it to the big 15. Most of my symptoms have gone away.... which I should be happy about. However, I just don't believe all the time I am actually pregnant. I know this has been a theme throughout my posts... but it just is weird. I don't know when it will finally sink in, but I can't wait until it does. Also, lately I have been my typical self, as far as worrying. Worrying about having a healthy baby. I know every mom worries about that, but I think about it a lot lately. They offer tests for early screening, but I didn't want them because my doc said there are often a lot of false positives. That is the last thing I need... even more stress! I pray every night that the baby is healthy, and would appreciate prayers from friends and family as well.
I think I may be feeling the baby move a bit. It is hard to tell if it is just other stuff, or actually the baby. I like to think it is, but again, looking forward until I know it is for sure kicks and punches!
I got a request from Shannon to update... but I feel like A. no one is reading my posts and B. my life is boring so my posts aren't that interesting! So lets see, Dan and I finished Christmas shopping yesterday. We also made dinner that was a new recipe... was not that great, and even worse reheated today. It was called a pizza popover. We then went out driving around looking at Christmas light displays. I found a website with addresses.... and it was NOT a good one. We made it to one display that was worth the hour and a half of driving around. I figure that would happen. I told Dan that since I was 16, I have always wanted to go on a limo tour of light displays. Maybe next year....
Today was basically lay-on-the-couch-day, like every Sunday. I was on the computer a lot... Dan slept while the Vikings game was on. I never like Sunday's a whole lot... I get the Sunday night blues. One full week of work, then a 3 day week before Christmas break. I am looking forward to that.
Anyway, I guess that is all for today... maybe a pic of belly will be posted later this week.
Noah's heartbeat has been 160 and higher the entire pregnancy. So he completely disproved the wives tale! :)
